366

remember the Leap Year Blanket from way back when?...
...well last night I finished the last '2' of '2012'!!!
Granted a little later than planned, but given that I spent a considerable part of the last half of 2012 in 'out of order' mode and having to write great chunks of it off for one reason and another, I think getting it finished only a month or so late is pretty good going. :)
In fact, given my track record of sticking (or not) to long term plans and projects, getting it finished at all is pretty good going! ;o)
So I have spent this morning joining up and sewing in ends...
...
366 squares all joined up :)
It still needs edging, which I'm hoping to make a good start on over the weekend, but it's pretty lovely as it is too, if I do say so myself :)

Pain, Pain, Go Away!

What was a niggling naggingness of a pain before and while we were away on holiday has unfortunately morphed into a full on flare up of costochondritis this week, which, until either the pain becomes more manageable, or I find a more effective way of managing the pain, means that coming back refreshed and ready to tackle the world and other things hasn't really happened and I'm pretty much out of action for most things :-/
Not impressed!
But clouds and silver linings and all that, sitting around and being confined to the sofa and unable to move very much for much of the day does at least lend itself quite well to a spot of crochet or fifty ;-)
So, I have caught up on my Leap Year Blanket project...
May's squares...
June's squares...
..and I now have a whole half of a blanket!!!...
...and started working on something new...
...work in progress...
Can you tell what it is yet?! ;-)
More photos tomorrow hopefully of the more finished version :)

Filling the gap...

Look what arrived in the post today...
 ☺☻☺☻☺☻☺☻☺
My 'swapper' was very kind and made me two squares for my blanket...
I've sewn one of them in to fill the February gap, and will add the other one in somewhere later in the year...
 Love it!
Thanks Jill :-)

Work in Progress Wednesday - Leap Year Blanket

Appropriately for the 29th of February, I thought I'd share my progress on my Leap Year Blanket - one of my long term works-in-progress...
...these are my blocks for February...
...and sewn together with January's squares...
The gap in the February block is for a Leap Day swapped square from someone else to go in :-)
...and for my part of the swap...
...really pleased with how it turned out...might have to make one for me too ;-)

My January squares...

I know I shared this elsewhere, but I don't think I got around to sharing here, so here is my January block of squares for my Leap Year blanket

Leap Year Blanket...

Having gone for the total immersion method of learning to crochet I have a few more than eight squares already, but I'm quite sure there will be days I don't get any done too ;-)

If you fancy doing a leap year blanket yourself, there's a lovely facebook group
